Updates

Here we will archive updates to arXiver, as well as any important news or changes.

8th January 2015
Happy New Year! Sorry for a few skipped days over the Christmas period, some were due to us being unavailable and some were due to the arXiv holiday schedule changing slightly. Should be all stable again from now on, please let us know if you see anything go wrong! 🙂

3rd December 2014
Many apologies to our readers for arXiver being out of action for the last couple of weeks. The early November technical issues returned, and we’ve been trying different avenues to solve it. It is (possibly) fixed now, so we’ll go from here and see how it runs. Thanks for continuing to use arXiver!

27th July 2014
As of now, arXiver supports author choice of figures! To specify which figures you want to appear alongside your paper, please leave a comment in your LaTeX as follows:

%@arxiver{fig1.pdf,fig4.png,fig15.eps}

Note: do *not* include the path to the figure (just the figure name) – the arXiver code will find nested figures automatically. See the FAQ for more details on this new feature!

27th June 2014
Oops! arXiver ran out of storage space on the 25th June, 2014. We’ve fixed the problem for now, and will be looking at long-term storage options for arXiver. Thank you to our readers for letting us know arXiver had a problem!

30th April 2014
You will now find author comments accompanying papers at the bottom of each arXiver post. These comments typically indicate the content of papers, their publication status and where they have been submitted. Thanks to our reader for the suggestion!

22nd April 2014
We’ve updated arXiver to match the new subject listings as defined by arXiv, specifically:

Galaxy Astrophysics -> Astrophysics of Galaxies
Cosmology and Extragalactic Astrophysics -> Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics

While the Tags on each post will reflect the new arXiv subject listings, we’ve decided to keep the old Category titles Galaxy Astrophysics and Cosmology and Extragalactic Astrophysics to avoid confusing duplication in the main categories of arXiver. The Tags will match the subjects as listed on arXiv. We welcome feedback on this decision!

Please note that all posts from Astrophysics of Galaxies and Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics from 17th March 2014 to 21st April 2014 are currently mis-categorised as Cross-Listed due to our code (and us!) not noticing the newly named categories. We’ll work on fixing that – until then, the Tags correctly list all papers in these subjects instead of the Categories. Thanks heaps to our awesome readers for letting us know about this change and how it was affecting arXiver!

9th February 2014
– arXiver can now be accessed from a new home at arxiver.net!
– arXiver is running itself daily in fully-automated mode
– We added up to the first 3 author names to posts based on the arXiver survey results
